Grand Marshal Dinner
March 10th | Thursday
Tim McLoone’s Supper Club | 1200 N Ocean Ave
We are pleased to announce this year’s Grand Marshal, John McGillion. McGillion was one of the founders and an important supporter of the city’s annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade. McGillion will receive the posthumous honor of being this year’s parade Grand Marshal on Sunday, March 13, 2022 and rather than in the usual Grand Marshal’s car he will be honored on a special Johnny Mac parade float.
McGillion, along with his wife Mary, established the well-known Johnny Mac House of Spirits on Main Street, Kim Marie’s Eat ‘n Drink Away on Kingsley Street and other businesses. John passed away July 12, 2020, at age 78.
In 2014, McGillion was a recipient of the Asbury Park Chamber of Commerce’s Carousel Award. The award honors people who have helped to make Asbury Park a unique and wonderful city.
A fundraising Grand Marshal dinner is planned for Thursday, March 10 from 6 to 9 pm at McLoone’s Supper Club on the boardwalk.
